Animal-Assisted Interventions are a complementary, holistic approach for humans
to prevent, maintain, and/or heal from various health conditions through the innate support of a dog.
Dogs, having a natural affinity to work with humans when faced with a shared goal and
offer an amazing experience to help heal humans physiologically by training our body to
release "happy" hormones instead of "stress" hormones when faced with challenges.
Research tells us that stress is the root cause of many health diagnoses and by changing how our body reacts to stressors
will ultimately provide us with the greatest protection against and long term management of dis-ease.
Additionally, supporting a child's social and emotional learning early in their development
results in maintaining healthy relationships with others, and more importantly, oneself.
"Over time, continued strain on your body from stress may contribute to serious health problems,
such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and other illnesses, including mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety."

In support of our U.S. service members, U.S. veterans, and their families, Cindy and a therapy dog will visit military children in the school setting (and now virtually!) to honor their service member and their family's continued sacrifice for their service free of charge.
The Teams
Our therapy dogs have completed obedience training through positive reinforcement only (lots of healthy treats, no electric or prong collars),
are in good health, and enjoy working with humans. We follow standards set by the International Association of Human-Animal Interaction Organizations in protecting the well-being of our canine partners. |
