Military Families Serve Too
Every important U.S. military mission begins as an Operation.
Operation H.E.E.L. was created to support U.S. military children and their families during and after their U.S. service members commitment to our country.
Our U.S. military veteran therapy dog teams volunteer their time visiting our U.S. military children in various settings by supporting them during family transitions and by celebrating the service of their U.S. military family member. According to the 2023 National Military Family Association survey of U.S. military family members, almost 85% of military families report there are limited local health and human service providers available to support our U.S. military families through military life transitions, especially in the area of mental wellness, due in part to the lack of knowledge of the challenges facing our U.S. military families. Teachers, health and human service professionals, U.S. military support units, and U.S. military family members are encouraged to contact us to schedule a visit!
Examples of experiences provided by our U.S. military veteran therapy dog teams that have been enjoyed by our U.S. military children may include:
• Visiting a U.S. military child's school classroom to celebrate the child & their U.S. military family member
• Supporting U.S. military unit family days
• Provide a calming presence during individual school counseling/therapy sessions
We accept grants from organizations such as Our Military Kids to enroll in either small group or private classes.
